Bateson, a young girl of 12, doesn’t believe in magic. During the Blitz, her
great aunt gives her a chatelaine she claims is magical and Kat is sent to
Rookskill Castle, a ‘safe place where there are no spies’. Kat starts doubting
that magic isn’t real when she arrives, with the seemingly changing halls and
the dissappearance of children, one by one. I loved this The Charmed
Children of Rookskill Castle because it is filled with puzzles, and
each page is filled with details more vivid than a movie. If I were the author, I would not change any
part of this book because if I did, the book would not be half as good as it is
now. If I were Kat, I would have solved the problem differently, but I would
not have been able to save the kids because Kat is much cleverer then I am. If
I were to pick one juicy word to describe this book, it would be extraordinary
because The Charmed Children of Rookskill Castle stands out from
all the other books, with magic and Blitz spies. The Charmed Children of
Rookskill Castle is a book for anyone of all ages.
