Out of My Mind
is a heart-warming story and its rich with incredibly realistic details, it
will leave you wanting for more. Eleven-year-old Melody has cerebral palsy, and
she can’t walk, talk, or even write! She’s the smartest kid in her whole
school, and no one even acknowledges it! Not even her teachers or doctors.
Melody goes to a special class for disabled children, and all she does there is
consistently recites the alphabet over and go ever theover again. Everyone
thinks she’s incapable of learning, and it makes her go out of her mind, so,
she tries to prove to everyone out there that just because she’s physically
disabled, doesn’t mean her mind is
limited to a world of knowledge. There is absolutely nothing to change about
this book, the author has created this book perfectly. I couldn’t have worded
it better myself. One juicy word I would use to describe Out of my Mind is moving, because this book is so
touching, and it makes me feel warm inside. Read Out of my Mind, and it will make you think differently about a
child in a wheelchair.
Daniela, your book review is fantastic! I can't believe you took the time to do this even though you are not in my class anymore. THANK YOU!!!! Keep these reviews coming my way :)
