only 5 years old, Saroo Brierly got lost on a train in India, and now he is
searching for his family on Google Earth. I loved A Long Way Home because it was a combination of action and a
biography and biographies are not usually this intresting. If I was the author,
I would leave the book just how it is because it was a perfect and nobody would
read it if I changed it. If I were Saroo, I do not think I could solve the
problem because my brain does not work as well as his. If I could describe the
book in one word, it would be journey to represent Saroo’s journey. I would
recommend A Long Way Home to anyone
who likes biographies and action.

Lost in Ireland
is a very good book to read for people who like adventures. I don’t like this
book; I love it. A girl named Meghan
McGlinchey receives a good luck chain letter. If she wants to have good luck
for the rest of her life, she has to send a letter to 3 other people but
instead she emailed it. I would not change anything about this book because
it’s so good and I love all the things the author wrote. If I were a character
in the book, I would have done the same thing that Meghan did because it
is a great way to solve the problem and
by doing it the correct way gave her an oppurtunity to make it fun. If I could
pick one juicy word to describe the book, it would be adventure because that is
what the book is all about. I recommend Lost
In Ireland to people who take risks and love adventures.

The book PLAYING
CUPID is an amazing book I think you
all will love. I liked this book because it was very heart warming. It is about
Clara Martinez who loves to make love matches at the mall. Once she sees two
people she thinks will hit it off, she asks three questions and “BAM!” they are
a couple. I would not change one part of this book because it is perfect. She
finds her friend is struggling to be popular so she tries to put her with a
popular boy. I would have solved this problem of trying to keep my friend
popular by not caring if my friend is popular or not. I would only care that we
would still be friends with them. One juicy word I would use is lovely; I think
it fits this story wonderfully. If you like books about romance, surprise and excitement, then PLAYING CUPID is the book
for you.

InThe Reptile Room, the Baudelaire
children go through a seires of unfortunate events. I like the book because the
children were very smart. Violet liked to build things, Sunny liked to bite
things with her sharp teeth, and Klaus liked to read books. One thing I would
change in the story is that the children never have the bad events that happen
like them having to live with Count Olaf. I would solve the problem by proving
that Count Olaf was a bad person and then they wouldn’t have to live with him.
If I could pick one juicy word to describe the book, I would pick unpleasant
because most of the story bad events happen. If you do not like books about
horrible things happening, you shouldn’t read The Reptile Room.

The moment I read the first
sentence, I couldn’t put The War That
Saved My Life down until I finished reading the last sentence. I like this
book because it was filled with action and drama. If I wrote this astounding book, I wouldn’t
change a word. If I were the main character, ten-year-old Ada, I would have
also run away from her mam (mom), which does happen in the book. I would do
this because her mam keeps her in her room with a bucket. Her mam does this
because Ada has a hideous clubfoot; well, at least that’s what her mam says. Once
she runs away, Ada and her brother become evacuees and it gets much more
exciting by the second! Now, that they ran away during the war they have become
evacuees. One JUICY word to describe The
War That Saved My Life is flabbergasting and an addicting book because I
really couldn’t stop reading! I can’t wait for the sequel, The War I Finally Won. Will her mam come and get her back or will
she stay with the nicest caretaker, Miss Smith? Read The War That Saved My Life to
find out...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the
second book of the Harry Potter series, involves magic and mystery in the best
way. The valiant Harry Potter is the main character, along with his friends
Ronald (Ron) Weasley and Hermione Granger. Danger lurks around Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Harry has to act because if he doesn’t, things
could get really serious and dangerous. Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets was very enjoyable and I simply adored it. The fact that I love
mystery stories really helped me enjoy the book, but I think anyone would like
it. I think Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets can’t be changed in
anyway, because if somebody changed it, the mystery could be taken away. If I was a character from the book and had to solve
the problem that children were turning in to stone, I would have tried to pay
attention, very careful attention, to the things around me. I would do research
and ask people questions to help me find out the answer. A little similar to
what Harry Potter did. If I had to pick one word to describe Harry Potter
and The Chamber of Secrets, it would be thriller because the book is very
mysterious and exciting all at the same time. Overall,
I really enjoyed reading the incredible Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets and really recommend it to ages eight up.

and Leo have been friends since they were babies and celebrated all their
birthdays together but Leo says some mean words that Amanda overhears on their
10th birthday. I really enjoyed 11 Birthdays because it was full of adventure and whenever
I turned the page there was a new problem.
I would not change anything about this book because I love all the twists and by changing
something it would ruin one of the twists. If I were a character in 11 Birthdays,
I would solve the problem the same way because there is no other way to solve
it. One juicy word to describe the book would be MAGIC because they are
repeating their birthday because of magic.
I could not put 11 Birthdays down because every time I turned the
page I would want to read more!

May your wishes come true if you read the book The
Wish Stealers. The Wish Stealers is about a girl named Griffin
Penshine; she loves to make wishes every chance she gets. One day when she goes
to the store an old woman gives her a penny and makes her “The Wish Stealer.” I
liked reading this book because I always wonder what happens to your wishes,
and now I know. If I were the author, I would not change anything because I
love the story with the curse and Griffin and… everything else. If I were
Griffin, I would have solved the problem the way she did by returning the
wishes because I would feel bad tricking someone into becoming the wish stealer.
One word to describe this book is extraordinary because The Wish Stealers
truly is a special book because of the way that the curse happened. With all do
respect though, I’m not forcing you to read it, after all it’s just my favorite
wish.

because it has clever comedy, it’s jam-packed with action, and has a great
story. If I had to change something about the book, I would make Jax and Ivy
part of the team because both Ivy’s smarts and Jax’s way of replicating voices
could come in handy. If I were Sam, I wouldn’t do anything different because
one wrong move and his cover could have been blown. In one word, I would describe
this book as adrenaline because of all the close calls he had. Nickel
Bay Nick is amazing and I know you’ll love it as much as I did.

In a quaint, little
cottage there lives an unusual, risk taking, little girl named Riley O’Chantler
with her peculiar mother, who keeps a knife called Fair Warning in a sheath
strapped to her thigh- don’t worry, that knife is used for cutting vegetables.
. . mostly. Riley’s little sister,
Lottie, who is impossible to potty train, also lives with them and is a bit
odd. Riley had a father who supposedly
was a solider and went to Beyond the Shale, a land that people get sucked into
and once there, never return home. Riley
has a close encounter with a Bog Noblin, a huge, ugly, creature who eats
children and collects their feet. I loved The Luck Uglies
because it was full of fantasy
and adventure, drawing the reader’s imagination into a whole new world with Bog
Noblins and mean kings. If I were
the author, I would better describe Beyond the Shale so that the reader would
understand it clearly. If I were Rye, I would most definitely make a hasty retreat
instead of standing with my feet fixed to the ground and screaming when a Bog
Noblin was about to eat me. If I
had to pick a word to describe
this book, it would be fantasy because the tales in this book could never
happen in real life . . . or could they?
I strongly recommend The Luck Uglies to you if you are the type of person
to enjoy a little bit of terror mixed with mischief and adventure.

is back and World War lll continues. In
his 2nd year at the Pentagonal Spire, he falls in love with Medusa,
the strongest soldier in the world; the only problem is that she is on the
enemy’s side. He is forced to make a
difficult choice between his country and Medusa. I loved this book because of the loads of adventure, mystery, and romance
throughout the story. One is kept on the
edge of his or her seat throughout this fast paced book filled with
suspense. If I were the author, I
wouldn’t change anything even though the reader feels heartbroken that Tom has
to make such a painful choice between his country and his love; the story feels
right because of this impossible decision.
If
I were a character in Vortex, I
would do nothing different because Tom is the perfect mix of irresponsible,
rebellious, sloppy teenager and young man making tough adult choices. If I had to pick a word to describe
this book, it would be enigma because each page is filled with mystery and the
reader is tempted to read on. I whole
heartedly recommend Vortex to you because it is a great book for boys and girls
who love adventure and mystery.

you can’t stop flipping the page! I
loved this book because it never gets boring. If I were the author, I would change
that instead of Harry seeing his dad he would see Lord Voldemort because it
would be more interesting. If I was Harry in the Boggart lesson with Mr. Lupin,
then I would say something to stop Mr. Lupin. If I could pick one JUCIY word, I would pick adventurous
because there are so many new adventures.
I highly recommend Harry Potter
and the Prisoner of Azkaban because it is one of the best books ever!! Also, if you liked this book, go and buy it
at your local book store.

I read an
amazing narrative poetry book called Love That
Dog and it touched my
heart when I finished the book. I could
read it over and over. I’m really
looking forward to reading Hate That Cat,
the sequel. I loved this book because I
couldn’t stop reading until the sad end and finally found out what happened. If I were the author, I would change what
happens to Jack’s dog, Sky, because it’s so depressing. I would have solved the problem by protecting
Sky better. My favorite part was when Jack
wrote such a great poem that was inspired by Walter Dean Myers, a real poet! A JUICY word to describe this book is
heart-warming because when something horrible happened to Sky, Mrs.
Stretchberry, Jack’s teacher, shows the reader the inspirational poem Jack made
and it was so charming. It made me feel
better about that sad feeling. Now, go
check out Love That Dog in the
library or buy it at the bookstore!

It’s World War lll. Tom Raines, a precocious and troubled 14 year
old video gamer who is usually unsure whether he will sleep in a comfy hotel
bed or on a grimy bench in a train station, gets an opportunity of a lifetime -
to train at the Pentagon Spire to become a soldier in the war. I absolutely loved Insignia because of the
persistent feeling of adventure, mystery, and doom mixed with a snippet of
romance. If I were the author, I would
not change one thing because the eloquent prose pulled me into the book and
made it difficult to stop reading while the fast paced story line kept me at
the edge of my seat. If I were a
character in the book, I wouldn’t change a thing because the characters are
each imperfect in exactly the right way.
If I had to pick one word to describe the book, it would be suspense
because that word illustrates the perpetual feeling in the air at the Pentagon
Spire. I heartily recommend Insignia to
you because it is a downright fabulous read!
If you want to read another book like this, read Vortex, Insignia’s
sequel.
